Apple to launch new MacBook Air and 13″ MacBook Pro later this year with M2 chip. A few days ago, a reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that Apple will release a brand updated MacBook Air later this year featuring an M1 chip in charge.
But a report from 9to5Mac does not agree with Kuo who claims that the next MacBook Air will be powered by the M2 chip instead. 9to5Mac states that the new MacBook Air will be codenamed J413 and will be released in a single version that has the M2 chip underneath the underneath.

The M2 chip is known by an official code name “Staten,” and it is built of the A15 processor. Similar to the M1, the M2 will have eight cores, however it will also have an ten-core GPU.
