Sony announces PlayStation Plus subscription service with three tiers. Sony has revealed a major update to the service. It is now available online as the PlayStation Plus service, which will now include new levels that will provide a collection of games for users to install and enjoy, along with integration of its cloud-based PlayStation Now service. 

The first level is PlayStation Plus Essential, which is like the current PlayStation Plus service. This will include all of the same benefits, including two monthly games that can be downloaded and online multiplayer access cloud saves, as well as discounts. Pricing will remain the same: $10 monthly, $25 every quarter and $60 per year. 

All current PlayStation Plus users will be moved to this level. The next level is where the fun begins. It’s called PlayStation Plus Extra, this level offers all the advantages from the Basic tier. It additionally gives customers access to up 400 PS5 and PS4 games, which are available to download and play at any moment as long as their subscription is still active. 

It covers PlayStation Studios titles as well as third-party games. PlayStation Plus Extra is the PlayStation Plus Extra tier is priced at $15 per month 40 percent quarterly, and $100 per year. Then, there’s PlayStation Plus Premium, which is the highest-priced option. It includes all benefits of Essential as well as Extra levels.

PlayStation Now will also cease to function as a separate service. Its PlayStation Plus premium plan is going to be available in regions that offer cloud streaming. In other regions, Sony will be offering the PlayStation Plus Deluxe plan, that will be less expensive and will not include cloud streaming. 

The rest of the plans will be identical to the Premium plan. New PlayStation Plus plans will be launched in a gradual way. The first release will be within Asia in June, and will be followed with North America, Europe, and the rest of the world , where PlayStation Plus is currently available. Sony plans to get the entirety of PlayStation Network territories to be in the new plans at the beginning of the first half of 2022.
