The Motorola Razr 3 might include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

Fans of Motorola’s version of the foldable phone got a surprise Christmas gift last month when a Lenovo exec said that the company is indeed working on a successor to the original foldable Razr in 2019 and a 5G-capable successor in 2020. Lenovo owns Motorola.

Today, some of the specs of this new foldable are said to have been leaked. If true, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip is said to be running the show, which is a big deal for foldable phones. This would be the first time a Motorola foldable phone has a real flagship chip since the first two phones had 7-series chips.

So that’s a good start. What kind of phone you buy will depend on how much RAM it comes with. The SoC will be paired with 6, 8, or 12 GB. Similarly, you’ll be able to choose between 128, 256, and 512GB of storage space.

Razr 3 is also said to have a Full HD+ AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, a secondary screen on the outside with unknown specs, NFC, UWB, and it will run Android 12 right away.

At the very least, the sources of today’s leak say that this device will be available in at least China, Europe, and North America, at the very least. There are now flood gates open, so expect to hear more about it soon.
